Head of Data Analytics

About the Role:

The Head of Data Analytics will lead a team of data scientists and analysts to drive data-driven decision-making across MFL. This role is pivotal in shaping MFL’s data strategy, fostering a culture of analytical excellence, and enabling business leaders to make informed, data-backed decisions that accelerate growth and innovation.

As a key driver of MFL’s success, this role will be responsible for building and scaling data capabilities, developing predictive models, and implementing advanced analytics solutions that enhance business performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, technical expertise, and executional ability to enable MFL’s transformation into a data-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership
• Define and execute MFL’s data analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall goals.
• Work closely with senior leadership to embed data-driven decision-making into all functions of the business.
• Identify opportunities for leveraging data to enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and revenue growth.
• Develop a data-driven culture, encouraging cross-functional teams to rely on data insights for strategic planning.

Data Science & Analytics Execution
• Lead the development of predictive and prescriptive analytics models to support data-driven business strategies.
• Oversee the design, development, and implementation of business intelligence (BI) solutions, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
• Drive the adoption of machine learning, AI, and advanced statistical techniques to provide actionable insights.
• Ensure data integrity, governance, and compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
• Establish best practices for data collection, storage, and utilization to optimize business intelligence and analytics capabilities.

Team Leadership & Development
• Build, mentor, and lead a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers, ensuring the team delivers high-value analytics solutions.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation within the analytics team.
• Promote the use of modern analytics tools and technologies, ensuring that the team remains at the forefront of industry advancements.
• Empower business units with self-service analytics capabilities, enabling non-technical teams to make data-driven decisions.

Operational Execution
• Collaborate with IT, engineering, and business stakeholders to optimize data infrastructure, pipelines, and data accessibility.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of data analytics on business outcomes.
• Enhance data accessibility through automation, self-service analytics, and scalable data architectures.
• Ensure the scalability and performance of analytics solutions to support business expansion and complexity.

Qualifications & Experience
• 8+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, business intelligence, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong expertise in SQL, Python, R, and experience working with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proven experience in big data technologies, machine learning models, and AI applications.
• Hands-on experience with BI tools (Tableau, Looker Studio, Power BI) and data visualization techniques.
• Strong understanding of statistical modelling, predictive analytics, and data mining techniques.
• Experience leading high-impact, cross-functional projects, with a proven track record of driving business results using data.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at the executive level.
• Background in financial services, technology, or a related industry is a plus.
